You could spend a ton of money on a portable speaker system if you want to take your audio with you when you head to a party or backyard barbeque, or you could roll up your sleeves, grab an old suitcase from a thrift store, and get your DIY on and get similar results.
Instructables user jm31181 decided that he didn't want to pay for an expensive Boomcase, so he made his own on the cheap. A few parts, some gently used speakers and a suitcase, and the right power components, and you can see the results in the video above.
The luggage speaker can connect to any audio device, which makes it perfect for a backyard party (as long as you have power) where everyone wants to play the music they have on their phones, and best of all he did it with mostly used parts. The next step? He wants to add a battery so you don't need to find an outlet to rock out.
