Google resource encourages veterans to start a business

Written by Carl Hopkinson

Google recently launched a new resource on its social media site Google+ aimed at helping veterans start their own business. Google has helped military veterans over the last few years with other tools so they will find the transition back to civilian life a little easier. Now the search engine giant has taken this help one step further, with VetNet.

VetNet has been introduced on Google+ and offers a wide variety of support and information to help any war veterans to become entrepreneurs. The initiative has three main parts which are aimed at offering varying levels of help and information. Business courses and workshops which are at college level will be on offer in the Entrepreneur Track. The courses will be offered by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families from Syracuse University.
Jaime Winne Alvarez, the spokesperson for IVMF said that the goal was to help veterans to start their own business venture, improving their future and that of their families. On Tuesdays and Thursdays each week for eight weeks, two public Hangouts will be held. Dr Mike Haynie, the founder of IVMF and a former US Air Force officer is going to be delivering the courses. The free courses will also be shown and retained on YouTube.

Google aims to play an integral role in the improvement of society, helping people in various ways. Whether it?s the Google search engine or Google+, it plays a role in search engine optimisation. Businesses from Chester to California all include the giant in their SEO campaign.
